Football fantasy leagues usually consist of 8 to 10 teams. There are three main types of leagues in fantasy football, namely, the redraft league, the keeper leagues and the dynasty league. In a redraft league, each owner begins with zero players at the start of the season and drafts an entire fantasy team. In the keeper league, each owner is permitted to retain a small number of players they already own in the season and reduce the number during the draft. In the dynasty league, each owner is allowed to retain as many players as he wants and include some well known players during the draft.
New League Types in Fantasy Football:
A new variant of fantasy football are made on the basis of the weekly NFL betting. This type of league is called survivor league. In the weekly NFL, each pool member is allowed to pick one NFL team to win each week. Once selected, the member is not allowed to change his team for the entire year. Likewise in the survivor fantasy league, the owners are allowed to draft a fresh team of seven players each week and that player is available to the owner only for one week of a year. This league helps in increasing the importance of the NFL matches. It also reduces the chances of the negative effects of injuries.
Salary Cap leagues:
The fantasy football league has one more type of league which is known as the salary cap league. This league adds another factor of realism which is similar to the NFL. Just as in case of NFL, each player in the league gets a salary which is capped. That means the total amount allowed to spend on a team has a cap.
